Silverlake Stadium pitch reconstruction and irrigation improvement

Eastleigh Football Club is a professional association football club based in Eastleigh, Hampshire, England. They currently compete in the National League, the fifth tier of English football, playing their home matches at the Silverlake Stadium.

Inscapes were contracted to remove the existing football pitch, construct a fibre sand pitch and improve the irrigation of the pitch as the pitch was unsuitable for matches in the winter and the irrigation system was unable to cope in the summer.

The grass surface was korowed off enabling the topsoil to be transported to our yard for resale. The subsoil was removed and a full drainage system installed. A gravel carpet was installed, followed by the sand layer and the fibre rootzone that had been donated from Southampton Football Club’s Staplewood Campus. The existing irrigation system was replaced and upgraded in order to cope with the requirements of the new sand based pitch.
