Re turfing of the roof garden outside Merlin’s Bar at The Celtic Manor
Inscapes completed a turf installation at The Celtic Manor. The lawns that are situated on the roof of the hotel need re-turfing yearly due to the damage of the Christmas ice rink. The only way to get the equipment to the roof garden was to drive the compact tractor through the hotel at night when it was quiet with the pallets of turf having to be transported up by the service elevator (all 1500m2 of it). Jim Mckenzie, director of Golf had his Greenkeeping staff on hand to help with the project, removing the spoil from site and transporting the turf to the work area. The project itself consisted of stripping the dead turf before Harley raking the ground and then laying 1500m2 of big roll turf.
