Glamorganshire Golf Club
Car Park Refurbishment
Glamorganshire Golf Club, located in the Vale of Glamorgan is the fourth oldest club in Wales. It has hosted a myriad of country, regional and national events. It is the birthplace of one of golf’s most popular scoring systems, the Stableford System.
Inscapes were contracted to construct and surface a new car parking area. The existing parking was a gravel area with a small tarmac strip running through it.
The construction involved the removal of the existing fence and clearing some vegetation and trees. New kerb edging was installed around the car park area regulating the overall area. Levels were built up with type 1 and a 1.8m high boundary fence was supplied and installed.
A precast concrete retaining wall was installed in order to retail the soil and hedging between the car park and golf course. ACO drains were supplied and installed to carry rainwater from the tarmac surface and the tarmac was marked with car parking bays.
In addition to the car park, a golf buggy park was constructed using CORE Drive gravel grids filled with aggregate.
